Samantha Carrillo advanced to state UIL with her costume designs for theatrical design in the Division I contest.  The students were required to design costumes for three of the characters found in the play Into the Woods.  All designs had to incorporate a theme that depicted the millennial generation.  Samantha chose to design costumes for Cinderella, The Witch and Little Red Riding Hood. The coaches for this event were Mary Southard and Destiny Banister.

8th Grade Art

Hi.  I am Destiny Banister.  The 2017-2018 school year will be my 6th year to teach art at Farwell High School. I am thrilled to begin the year!

The students of Farwell are creative sponges.  I love seeing them develop their ideas.  We will be working with all different kinds of creative media.  Students will experience graphite, color pencil, watercolor, acrylic, ceramics and charcoal.

Students will also have the opportunity to enter their artwork in local art competitions.  A few that we normally participate in are located at Clovis Community College, Wayland Baptist University and Eastern New Mexico University.

Farwell ISD's mission is to provide quality instruction to all students so they will develop into responsible, adaptable, contributing citizens with caring attitudes. The district is responsible for helping all students achieve their fullest potential since all students can learn. With this in mind, an objective-based curriculum continuum is utilized at all levels. It will include the facility for ongoing evaluation and change in order to meet the evolving needs of students.
